WHO WE ARE
Founded in 1989, Carnwath Excavating Co. is a sitework contractor located in Clarkston, Michigan. We self-perform earthwork and utilities for private and public projects ranging in size from $100,000 to $5,000,000 primarily in Southeastern Michigan. We own over (40) pieces of late model Caterpillar Equipment and we use the most current Trimble GPS for grade control. Our key employees all have over 20 years of experience in our industry and are passionate about our work. We are proud and blessed to be providing service and dedication to our industry and our customers year after year.
HISTORY
Ken Carnwath worked in his family's general contracting business from high school until 1988, working in all phases of commercial and residential building construction. Wanting to focus on quality and reliability in one particular category of the industry, Ken and his wife Barb started Carnwath Excavating Company in January of 1989 specializing in site utility construction at first, and subsequently adding earth moving operations to the business. In 2015 Ken began to transfer company ownership to Mark Vance. Currently the owner and president of Carnwath Excavating, Mark is intimately involved in Carnwath’ s construction operations making sure our work meets the high service and quality standards we strive for and are known for throughout our industry.
